Our customers often struggle with waste filters. Especially the oil and fuel filters.
Here’s How to dispose of them.
To get rid of your waste filters, you can either drop them off at your local hazardous waste disposal site, or you can arrange to get them collected.
Find your local hazardous waste disposal service here https://www.gov.uk/hazardous-waste-disposal
Before dropping them off, check the regulations. You might find that you have to drain the oil and fuel filters. Plus, there are legal forms to fill out and regulations to comply with.
Some people find it easier to use a hazardous waste and recycling company that will collect the waste filters. All you need to do is put the right filters in the right bin.
There are a few different companies in the UK that will collect these from you. That's the air, cabin, oil, fuel, hydraulic, AdBlue or water filters and breathers, so you don’t have to prepare the filters and fill out all the legal paperwork yourself.
You can find these companies by searching “collect used fuel and oil filters” in your search engine (Google, Bing, etc.).
